Prayer Card
Mykola (Nikolai) and Heather Shimansky, both Northern New England District Assemblies of God licensed ministers, are
missionaries with Assemblies of God U.S. Missions. Previously, they served as Assemblies of God World Missionaries in Ukraine,
where Nikolai is from. They've been blessed with two sons: Jonathan Nikolayevich, born on October 15th, 2005, and Jeremiah
Nikolayevich, born on July 28th, 2008. God gave them a desire to plant a church among a people group that has no church of
their own. The Lord led them from Ukraine and Vermont, Heather's home state, to the city of Milwaukee, where there are more
than 10,000 Russian and Ukrainian people and no evangelical church for them in their own language.
The Shimanskys have settled into the Russian/Ukrainian speaking area of Milwaukee. About one year ago, they were approved by
U.S. Missions as U.S. Intercultural missionaries to the Russian/Ukrainian speaking people in Milwaukee. Even though they are
still raising their budget, they have begun ministering to the Russian/Ukrainian people. They have been working on
establishing relationships with the people and have begun a Bible study for Russians and Ukrainians. In addition, they have
offered their services as chaplains/ministers to local places where Russian/Ukrainian speaking people receive help, such as:
hospitals, funeral homes, and police stations. They are working more and more on ideas, plans, ways for reaching out to the
people.
