NNED Intercultural Ministries

Each year thousands of immigrants join our communities from other countries. We have an amazing opportunity to share the love of Jesus with people from all around the world in the Northern New England District. Refugees, international students, undocumented workers, and immigrants of diverse professions and backgrounds are resettling in Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire as well as the cultures that already exist here such as the deaf community and Native populations. NNED Intercultural Ministries exists to encourage and support you and your church or ministry in reaching out to diverse people groups. The time to be light and salt is now. Please contact me if you would like to learn more about how your church or ministry can be involved in reaching out to our new neighbors.

Lisa Marie Thibault serves the Assemblies of God Northern New England District as the Intercultural Ministries Director. God gave Lisa a heart for nations and cultures shortly after she came into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ as a teenager. She attended Bible College where she obtained a degree in Deaf Ministry. She has served the Deaf through Sign Language interpreting for more than 20 years. She and her family lived in France for three years where she experienced what itís like to live in another country without speaking the language or knowing anyone. After returning to Vermont, Lisa pondered in her heart how she could reach the nations. The Lord spoke to her and said He was sending the nations to Vermont. She helped launch a ministry to the growing refugee and immigrant community at Community Bible Church in 2003 and received the 2007 Governorís Award for Outstanding Community Service for her involvement with the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program. Lisa Marie is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God and serves her church as the Intercultural Ministry Director. Lisa and Scott have five children and enjoy teaching them at home.
